The allergy record is the warning; the 🚫 flag in the food library is that warning where the feeding actually happens. Record the allergy properly, then flag the specific foods it rules out, and the person filling the bowl sees it without needing to know the clinical detail.

What kinds of allergy can I record?
Food, medication and environmental — chicken, a particular antibiotic, grass pollen. Each one carries the reaction it causes and a mild or severe rating.
Why do allergies get their own section?
Because they are safety-critical and time-critical. Anything a sitter, a kennel or an out-of-hours vet needs to know in five seconds should not be three taps deep in a menu, so allergies sit directly under the digital passport with severe ones flagged in red.
What is the difference between an allergy and a food "avoid"?
An avoid is a 🚫 flag on a saved food in the feeding library — useful for preferences and mild intolerances. An allergy is a record in its own right, with a reaction and a severity, shown under the passport and printed on the vet PDF. Anything that causes a real reaction belongs in allergies.
Do allergies go to the vet?
Yes, prominently. They are one of the first things on the printable health summary, above the vaccination history — which matters most at an emergency practice that has never seen your animal before.
Can a sitter see them without being able to change anything?
Yes. Invite them as a Viewer: they see everything, including the allergies, and can change nothing.
Does CorePaw diagnose allergies?
No. It records what you and your vet have established. Working out what an animal reacts to is a job for a vet — often a diet trial or testing — not an app.
