Digital passport FAQ
What is a digital pet passport?
In CorePaw it is a single card holding everything someone asks for about your pet: name, species, breed, sex and neuter status, date of birth, colour and distinguishing marks, living environment, microchip number and registry, pedigree/KC number, insurance provider, policy and renewal date, and your vet practice and phone number.
Is this the same as a UK pet passport for travel?
No. The EU/UK pet passport for travel is an official document issued by a vet. CorePaw's digital passport is your own record of the same information — useful at the vet, the kennel or with a sitter, but it does not replace official travel paperwork.
Can I store my microchip certificate?
Yes. You can photograph or attach the certificate, and record the chip number, the registration database and its status (registered, not registered, transfer pending or unknown), the implant date, the manufacturer, and the clinic that implanted it.
Why does CorePaw remind me about microchip registration?
A microchip is only useful if the contact details registered against it are current — people move house and change phone numbers and forget the chip database. A "Verify registration" action stamps today's date and sets a yearly reminder, and the pet screen flags when that check is due or overdue.
What is the chip-check log?
A record of every time a vet scans the chip — scanned OK, not detected, or details updated — with where it happened and a note. Over time it is evidence the chip is still present and readable.
Where do allergies appear?
Directly under the passport, because they are safety-critical. Each allergy has a reaction and a mild or severe rating; severe ones are flagged in red so a carer or sitter sees them at a glance, and they are printed prominently on the vet health-summary PDF.
