Delete your account

This page explains how to permanently delete your CorePaw account and the data held with it. CorePaw is published by Steony Ltd.

Deleting some of your data, without closing your account

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove something. Inside the app you can delete any individual item you've added — a pet and everything recorded against it, or a single health record, medication, photo, document, weight entry or walk. Open the item and choose Delete. It disappears from your other devices too, and from anyone you've shared that pet with.

If you'd rather we removed something for you, email hello@corepaw.co.uk from the address you signed up with and tell us what to remove.

If you still have the app

To close the account entirely:

This is the quickest route, and it takes effect immediately.

Open CorePaw and go to Explore → Delete account. You'll be asked to confirm. Once you do, your account is deleted straight away — there is no waiting period and no way for us to undo it.

If you own a household that other people share, CorePaw will ask you to hand it over to another member first. That is deliberate: deleting you would otherwise take the whole family's pet records with you. Transfer ownership under Explore → Household members, then delete your account.

If you've already uninstalled the app

Email hello@corepaw.co.uk from the address you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account.

We'll confirm it's really you before doing anything — an account deletion we can't reverse is not something to action on an unverified email. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days, and usually far sooner.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

• your sign-in details and profile
• every household you created, and all the pets in it
• all of those pets' records — health history, vaccinations, medications and doses, feeding, allergies, symptom diaries, weights and measurements
• photos and documents you uploaded, including the files themselves
• recorded walks and their routes
• your membership of any household someone else owns — their records stay with them
• any bug reports or feedback you sent us from inside the app

Anything held only on your phone goes when you delete the app.

What we keep, and for how long

Two things outlive the deletion, and neither is something we can remove on request:

• Subscription and payment records. If you ever subscribed, the record of that purchase belongs to Apple or Google, who took the payment. We never see your card details, and we can't delete their records. Manage or cancel a subscription through the App Store or Google Play.
• Encrypted backups. Deleted data can persist in routine encrypted database backups for up to 30 days before those backups are overwritten. It isn't accessible in normal use and is not restored to the live service.

If a walker or business looked after your pet

If you shared a pet with a dog walker, deleting your account removes their access along with everything else. Notes and walks they logged were part of your pet's history and are deleted with it.
